Lead Hazmat Instructor
Rick Meehan

Rick Meehan has been a firefighter for 21 years and has worked on the Harris County Hazardous Materials Response Team for 15. He has been on several large and complex incidents over his career and brings real world applications to his classes. While not researching how to be a better hazmat guy, he focuses his time on being a mediocre guitar player at his church. Rick is happily married to his wife, Lauren, and resides in the country where they tend to their farm and build fencing together.

40hr OSHA Hazmat Technician Course

This class teaches a  more aggressive role than the (FRO) at the operations level in that they will approach the point of release in order to take measures to stop the release. Our course meets all the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120 (q). We will work with you to ensure that the necessary mission specific competencies within NFPA 472 are included in 4 days of 10hr training.

16hr OSHA Hazmat First Responder Operations Course

Our 16-Hour FRO course builds upon the awareness level training and trains the responder to be capable of responding in a defensive manner to a hazardous materials emergency. The purpose of the course is to learn to contain the release from a safe distance, keep it from spreading, and prevent hazardous exposures.

8hr OSHA Hazmat Awareness Course

OSHA law, 29 CFR 1910.120, requires all new employees who may be involved in a hazardous materials release to be trained to the hazmat awareness level. This course covers hazardous materials communication requirements, recognizing and identifying hazards, NAERG usage and other pertinent hazmat laws and regulations.
