Flexible sided ladders are a cost effective, lightweight solution for temporary access to confined spaces and difficult to reach locations. Even with minimal training, ladders can easily be transported and rapidly deployed for use. Personnel utilizing ladders should always use a separate fall protection system for safety.

Construction: The rungs are hollow tubes with a dowel insert. Rungs are secured to the side wire ropes with pins and resin. A pin is driven through the center of the rope into the dowel and set in resin to form a solid block inside the rung. A plastic cap is then pushed in to seal the rung end. Black rungs are cut to size and drilled before treatment to ensure that the alloy tube is 100% anodized.

Compact Ladders General purpose ladder for ascending/descending. Used for applications such as manhole entry, caving, and access to lighting truss. With fitness and a little practice, they are easy to climb.

Specs

  • Useful for work positioning
  • Wide enough to fit both feet side by side
  • Larger diameter rungs are more comfortable to stand on for long periods of time
  • Used for applications such as cleaning, inspection, and vessel entry
  • Rungs are 10.6" wide
  • Aluminum rungs are 1" Diameter
  • GRP rungs are 1.3 diameter

Passes the BCCTR Rescue Belay Competence Drop Test Criteria*
Developed specifically to meet the needs of rescue system belays.
The well-engineered Traverse 540 Belay is a patented, self-locking, easy-to-rig device that meets demanding drop-test criteria: able to hold falling loads quickly while limiting the peak force. The symmetrical design reduces the risk of improper rigging. A built-in release lever discharges the tension on the belay rope, eliminating the need for a release hitch.

    * The British Columbia Council of Technical Rescue Belay Competency Drop Test specifies a 1-meter drop onto 3 meters of kernmantle rescue rope with less than 1 meter of additional travel and less than 15 kN peak force. For a General Use rated device, a 280-kg load and a 12.5-mm rope are generally used. For a Technical Use device, a 200-kg load and an 11.1-mm rope are used.

Non-locking carabiners can be used for racking equipment or as the keeper carabiner on a load-release strap or mariners hitch. Non-locking carabiners should always be used in pairs, rigged opposite and opposed. Our oval aluminum carabiner features a unique key-lock design for snag-free operation and a side-swing gate for maximum gate opening. The oval design places equal amounts of force on the spine and gate, allowing the carabiner to maintain full rated strength regardless of the width of the web or rope clipped into it. Its also a good size to clip over the ropes coming out of a pulley to help mind a Prusik hitch.
    Every carabiner is proof loaded.

    Anchor Plate

A CMC original design that has withstood the test of time, our Anchor Plates keep the carabiners holding the different parts of your rescue system from jamming together. The hardware becomes easier to see, making safety checks more accurate. It can also keep you from clipping a carabiner into the wrong loop of the anchor web. For anchor systems, it makes an excellent collection point. We use the Anchor Plate in CMC Rope Rescue classes, which allows our students to set up systems faster with fewer mistakes. Hole diameters: small 7/8 in (22 mm), large 2 in (51 mm)

Twenty years ago CMC introduced the Anchor Plateas a strong, lightweight, and compact collection point for connecting a rescue system to an anchor. And that point is an important feature. Over the years weve seen a steady progression of bigger, better anchor and rigging plates with more and more holes entering the market. But the bigger the plate, the less like a collection point it becomes, increasing the potential for rotation of the plate, creating additional system extension and shock-loading if any movement or failure of an anchor occurs. In 20 years of use, weve not seen an operational need for more holes, a larger size, or more weight.

    Product Tip:
Besides serving as the point of distribution to any number of secure anchor points, rigging plates also serve the benefit of aligning the separate lines of a rigging system in distinct order, keeping multiple and various lines orderly. One tip when determining complementary gear to use with rigging plates; consider the versatility swivel pulleys can lend to the rigging system. They introduce rotational movement into the rigging lines running from the plate because the swivel pulley can rotate as needed to provide enhanced inline ability to clear other components within the system.

Anchor straps have a tough job, and see a lot of wear and tear. Over the years, weve learned that cuts and abrasion are the greatest threats to their safety and service life. To dramatically increase both, our Anchor Straps now feature two layers of the same durable mil-spec, resin-coated nylon web. Sewn by our highly skilled workers who make our rescue harnesses, our Anchor Straps feature forged steel D-rings individually proof loaded and sized for easy choker (girth-hitch) configuration when desired. Sewn-on web keeper allows for improved organization when stowed. Use our sized Anchor Strap Sleeves for added edge and abrasion protection.

Note: We recommend using a Delta Quick Link connector (part #382121) to prevent possible tri-axial loading of a carabiner when used in a basket configuration.

Our sewn Prusiks offer unmatched performancewith strength equivalent to a tied Prusik loop, just without the cumbersome knot. The factory-sewn SecureStitchTM is covered with durable clear shrink tubing that allows regular inspection and helps protect the stitching for longer life. Some rescuers prefer a bound-loop style Prusik for cinching the attachment bight around the carabiner to help snug the Prusik to the connector. Our AZ Bound-Loop Prusiks are identical to our Sewn Loop Prusiks except that the shrink tube captures both sides of the loop while allowing adjustment.

Improved! As one of the most versatile tools in rope rescue, the CMC AZTEK ProSeries System reflects our philosophy of keeping rigging equipment simple, efficient, light, compact, and multi-purpose. Originally developed by Reed Thorne of Arizona-based Ropes That Rescue, the AZTEK (Arizona Technician’s Edge Kit) is used worldwide and offers more than 100 rigging solutions in a single bag. The CMC AZTEK ProSeries System is made in USA of US and foreign components.

This system now includes an updated AZTEK ProSeries Pack that has improved fabric durability, new reflective piping, and a fresh OD Green color. The pack is feature rich with 1000D nylon/Tarpaulin construction for abrasion resistance, mesh panel for ventilation and drying, Garage Pockets™ to protect cord, double-zippered top compartments, and tension lock buckles for carrying on the waist or thigh. Note: product videos may show previous pack model (no longer available in Coyote color).

    Features

The CMC AZTEK ProSeries System is the first AZTEK system to be UL Classified to NFPA 1983 (2017 ED) – General Use – Manufactured System. The system is thoughtfully designed to support rescue teams and each component has been tested and proven to work efficiently in a multitude of lab and field scenarios. Everything comes pre-rigged and fully assembled for immediate deployment.

The set-of-fours includes 15.2 m (50 ft) of 8 mm AZTEK ProSeries Cord, which is CMC’s high-performance 100% nylon blend. These can extend to 3.6 m (12 ft) while providing a 4:1 or 5:1 mechanical advantage with a Minimum Breaking Strength (MBS) of 38 kN (8,542 lbf).

For a personal edge travel-restrict with nearly 15.2 m (50 ft) of adjustable travel, attach the carabiner of the personal end of the system to an appropriate anchor and restrict edge travel using the integrated Purcell connected to your harness. The sleeved web edge-pro helps protect the cord around anchors with abrasive surfaces.

Introducing the all-new CLUTCH, the latest evolution in rescue and rope access hardware that enables the technical rope professional to do more with less. This multi-purpose device was designed and engineered in collaboration by two companies with a collective 90 year history in rope management under heavy loads: CMC, a company with roots in rescue and rope access, and Harken Industrial, a manufacturing company with roots in high performance sailing.

Designed for intuitive, efficient operation, ease of use and optimal control, the versatile CLUTCH is suited to a multitude of rigging operations.

      PPE Inspections

The CLUTCH should have a periodic inspection performed by a competent person at least once every 12 months, after any exceptional event(s), or if there is any doubt to the condition of the product. For each inspection, CMC recommends the Periodic PPE Inspection Form be completed, signed and archived for the life of the product. In case of retirement, ensure to render the device useless before disposal to prevent further use.

The CLUTCH User Manual, CLUTCH Inspection Procedure and CLUTCH Periodic PPE Inspection Form provided below are resources for detailed inspections. They are not exhaustive and inspection by a competent person is required. See the PPE homepage for more information on a “competent person.”

By performing a periodic inspection and signing periodic inspection forms, you are declaring yourself as a competent person and assuming responsibility for the implementation of the inspection processes and proper disposition of the PPE.

      Warnings:

      • Fully read and understand the CLUTCH technical manual before applying the following techniques.
      • Mastering these techniques requires training.
      • Consult a professional before attempting to perform these techniques on your own.

      Test Method

A 100kg test mass was raised with several rigging configurations placing different devices at the head of the system:

    • CMC CLUTCH
    • CMC MPD
    • Bobbin Style Descent Device
    • CMC HD4 Pulley
    • CMC Proseries Carabiner

    • The test rope was CMC G-11 Lifeline.
For the 3:1 system, a CMC PMP Swivel Pulley was utilized.

The force required to raise the test mass at a constant speed was recorded. Due to variables that are difficult to reproduce, the data is given for information only.

Efficiency (EFF) is calculated by dividing the theoretical force required to raise the load by the measured force required.

      SIMPLE DIRECTIONAL AT THE ANCHOR
      (1:1 THEORETICAL EFFICIENCY)

      SIMPLE DIRECTIONAL AT THE LOAD
      (2:1 THEORETICAL EFFICIENCY)
