Flexible sided ladders are a cost effective, lightweight solution for temporary access to confined spaces and difficult to reach locations. Even with minimal training, ladders can easily be transported and rapidly deployed for use. Personnel utilizing ladders should always use a separate fall protection system for safety.
Construction: The rungs are hollow tubes with a dowel insert. Rungs are secured to the side wire ropes with pins and resin. A pin is driven through the center of the rope into the dowel and set in resin to form a solid block inside the rung. A plastic cap is then pushed in to seal the rung end. Black rungs are cut to size and drilled before treatment to ensure that the alloy tube is 100% anodized.
Compact Ladders General purpose ladder for ascending/descending. Used for applications such as manhole entry, caving, and access to lighting truss. With fitness and a little practice, they are easy to climb.

CMC's patented 3D locking-bar descender delivers the ultimate in safety, control and performance, in one compact and lightweight device. The 3D features two sliding bars for optimum friction control and efficiency. The horn design works well with 13 mm rope and smaller, making it easy to add or subtract friction as needed throughout the evolution. The frame dimensions allow for larger rescue-sized carabiners to be used without any contact or friction with the rope. The descender can be loaded or unloaded while connected to your harness for rappelling or to an anchor for one- or two-person rescue lowers.
About CMC’s Super Black Finish
The CMC 3D, Rescue Rack, and Rescue 8 products feature an exceptionally long-wear proprietary finish because typical hard or soft anodizing on aluminum descenders eventually wears through. This finish also prevents transfer of material onto the rope, common with bare aluminum components. After years of heavy use, our products and test samples with this Super Black Finish continue to be used in CMC School classes without showing any indication of the finish wearing through.
Passes the BCCTR Rescue Belay Competence Drop Test Criteria*
Developed specifically to meet the needs of rescue system belays.
The well-engineered Traverse 540 Belay is a patented, self-locking, easy-to-rig device that meets demanding drop-test criteria: able to hold falling loads quickly while limiting the peak force. The symmetrical design reduces the risk of improper rigging. A built-in release lever discharges the tension on the belay rope, eliminating the need for a release hitch.
* The British Columbia Council of Technical Rescue Belay Competency Drop Test specifies a 1-meter drop onto 3 meters of kernmantle rescue rope with less than 1 meter of additional travel and less than 15 kN peak force. For a General Use rated device, a 280-kg load and a 12.5-mm rope are generally used. For a Technical Use device, a 200-kg load and an 11.1-mm rope are used.

We developed the Adjustable Litter Strap because it allows minor adjustments to be made while the litter is being carried. Quickly releasing the buckle extends the strap, preventing the rescuer from being pulled down with the litter. Sewn loop strength exceeds 36 kN (8,093 lbf). The strap can also be used for pick-offs.

Alta Flex Industrial Elbow Pads
Designed to protect your elbows when crawling and valuable for horizontal confined space entries, cave rescue, or tactical responses, Alta Flex Industrial Elbow Pads have non-slip, rubber caps that actually grip the surface, allowing faster movement. Two elastic straps with AltaGrip™ Hook & Loop Fastening System ensure a proper fit.
Because emergency workers spend an inordinate amount of time working on their knees—this is particularly true of heavy rescue operations, confined space entries, or tactical responses— Alta Superflex Knee Pads are a must-have. Lightweight but with a full 1/2 inch of foam padding, they reduce stress and fatigue to the knees, allowing you to work longer and more effectively. The rubber caps grip the surface to prevent sliding, and a unique, easy-to-use buckle fastening system allows a comfortable fit that minimizes interference with circulation to the lower legs.
Used in a wide variety of rigging applications, this small, strong connection point is machined from high-strength aluminum bar stock. Its rounded inner surface minimizes rope bend and allows smooth movement of the rope.
Working-At-Height / Industrial Rope Access / Technical Rope Rescue
Working at height requires reliable, quality equipment. The Aluminum O-Ring can be used with confidence in work-at-height maneuvers for industrial rope access or technical rope rescue when used in accordance with the regulatory safety standards it falls under. Always use life safety equipment and gear according to the regulatory safety standards for which it is classified and/or certified.
Non-locking carabiners can be used for racking equipment or as the keeper carabiner on a load-release strap or mariners hitch. Non-locking carabiners should always be used in pairs, rigged opposite and opposed. Our oval aluminum carabiner features a unique key-lock design for snag-free operation and a side-swing gate for maximum gate opening. The oval design places equal amounts of force on the spine and gate, allowing the carabiner to maintain full rated strength regardless of the width of the web or rope clipped into it. Its also a good size to clip over the ropes coming out of a pulley to help mind a Prusik hitch.
Every carabiner is proof loaded.
A CMC original design that has withstood the test of time, our Anchor Plates keep the carabiners holding the different parts of your rescue system from jamming together. The hardware becomes easier to see, making safety checks more accurate. It can also keep you from clipping a carabiner into the wrong loop of the anchor web. For anchor systems, it makes an excellent collection point. We use the Anchor Plate in CMC Rope Rescue classes, which allows our students to set up systems faster with fewer mistakes. Hole diameters: small 7/8 in (22 mm), large 2 in (51 mm)
Twenty years ago CMC introduced the Anchor Plateas a strong, lightweight, and compact collection point for connecting a rescue system to an anchor. And that point is an important feature. Over the years weve seen a steady progression of bigger, better anchor and rigging plates with more and more holes entering the market. But the bigger the plate, the less like a collection point it becomes, increasing the potential for rotation of the plate, creating additional system extension and shock-loading if any movement or failure of an anchor occurs. In 20 years of use, weve not seen an operational need for more holes, a larger size, or more weight.
Product Tip:
Besides serving as the point of distribution to any number of secure anchor points, rigging plates also serve the benefit of aligning the separate lines of a rigging system in distinct order, keeping multiple and various lines orderly. One tip when determining complementary gear to use with rigging plates; consider the versatility swivel pulleys can lend to the rigging system. They introduce rotational movement into the rigging lines running from the plate because the swivel pulley can rotate as needed to provide enhanced inline ability to clear other components within the system.
Anchor straps have a tough job, and see a lot of wear and tear. Over the years, weve learned that cuts and abrasion are the greatest threats to their safety and service life. To dramatically increase both, our Anchor Straps now feature two layers of the same durable mil-spec, resin-coated nylon web. Sewn by our highly skilled workers who make our rescue harnesses, our Anchor Straps feature forged steel D-rings individually proof loaded and sized for easy choker (girth-hitch) configuration when desired. Sewn-on web keeper allows for improved organization when stowed. Use our sized Anchor Strap Sleeves for added edge and abrasion protection.
Note: We recommend using a Delta Quick Link connector (part #382121) to prevent possible tri-axial loading of a carabiner when used in a basket configuration.
Made from tough #4 duck canvas and a layer of vinyl coated polyester, our Anchor Strap Sleeves protect anchor straps from the elements and surface abrasion, reducing wear and tear and increasing safety and service life. Available sizes: S-XL.
